Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Fogo ("Fogo," "we," "us") for use of the Fogo app and website. By creating an account or using Fogo, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Fogo.

What Fogo is (and isn't)

Fogo is a personal finance tool that helps you track spending, review your money, and plan toward your goals. Fogo provides informational insights and coaching, not professional financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Always consider consulting a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it current.

Connecting financial accounts

When you link a bank or card, you authorize us and our data provider (Plaid) to access read-only account and transaction information on your behalf. You represent that you have the right to connect those accounts. You can disconnect at any time.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Fogo for anything unlawful, or to violate anyone's rights.
• Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt our security or infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the service except as allowed by law.
• Upload malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts.

AI-generated content

Fogo uses AI to generate summaries, insights, and coaching. AI can make mistakes and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Treat its output as a helpful starting point, not a guarantee, and verify anything you'll act on.

Your content

You own the data and content you put into Fogo. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to operate and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Service availability and changes

We're actively building Fogo, so features may change, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. We may modify or discontinue parts of the service, and we'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.

Disclaimers

Fogo is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that insights will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fogo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using Fogo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the service or other users.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
