As of October 21, 2026. Prices and features change; every fact below comes from the company's own page, linked, on that date. Where we couldn't confirm something from the source, we say so instead of guessing.
Most money apps ask you to trust a number. Fogo's whole design is that you shouldn't have to: every figure it states traces back to your own transactions, and when it doesn't have enough to go on, it says "I don't know" rather than filling the gap. That's the line we'd draw between Fogo and the apps below. None of them say on their own pages that their AI cites the transactions behind an answer or states when it can't tell, so we can't compare on that. It's simply the axis Fogo is built on.

"Can't ChatGPT just do this?"
It's the fair question, and since May 2026 OpenAI has a feature, Finances in ChatGPT, that connects accounts and answers questions about them. We couldn't read OpenAI's own help page when we wrote this, so we won't describe its details second-hand.
What we can say is what Fogo does that a general assistant isn't built to:
- It keeps the books first and talks second. Transfers aren't counted as spending, refunds aren't counted as income, and a projection made on the 3rd of the month is labelled as one.
- It says which kind of claim each number is: a posted fact, an estimate, a projection, or "not enough to tell".
- It has a monthly ritual. You look back on the month and set the next one, and Fogo remembers what you said you intended.
What Fogo doesn't do (yet)
- No native iPhone or Android app; it runs in the browser on both.
- No investment-account trading or bill negotiation.
- It's young. The apps above have years of bank-connection polish that Fogo is still earning.
